Get started with your new Trezor

Follow these official, step-by-step instructions to set up your Trezor hardware wallet securely and begin managing your crypto.

Download the Trezor Suite app

For the best experience, download the Trezor Suite desktop application. The desktop Suite provides a secure, feature-complete interface for initial setup and ongoing management of your device and accounts. If you prefer, you can choose to continue with the web app instead — both options give access to device setup and wallet management.

Install the Trezor Suite app (desktop users)

Install the downloaded desktop application and open it on your computer. Desktop installation is optional for users who opt to use the web interface, but it is recommended for the most stable and fully featured experience.

Set up your Trezor device

Connect your Trezor hardware wallet to your computer or mobile device and follow the guided on-screen steps. The setup wizard will walk you through creating a new wallet, choosing a secure PIN, and generating a recovery (seed) phrase. The entire process typically takes about 15 minutes when followed carefully.

Secure and store your recovery phrase

During setup you will be given a recovery phrase. This phrase is the single most important backup for your wallet — write it down accurately, store it in a safe, offline location, and never share it. Trezor will never ask for your recovery phrase in support requests. Protecting this phrase is essential to maintaining control over your funds.

Move your coins

Once setup is complete and your device is unlocked, transfer your assets from exchanges or other wallets into your Trezor wallet addresses. Trezor Suite includes guides and walkthroughs for sending and receiving supported coins and tokens; follow those steps to ensure safe transfers and confirm transactions on the device before approving.

Expert onboarding (optional)

If you prefer hands-on assistance, Trezor offers a personal 1:1 Trezor Expert onboarding session. This live online session (usually 60 minutes) is intended to guide you through device setup, recovery best practices, and basic use of Trezor Suite. Having the physical device present during the session is necessary.

Supported platforms and further learning

Trezor supports a wide range of coins and integrates with multiple third-party services and decentralized applications.
